Free night out at Michigans own Cranbrook Institute of Science! Monday, May 02, 2016

March 13, 2017

If you ever think that there aren't enough fun things to do with the family that are free and educational, well you might be right, but not the first Friday of every month! Cranbrook Institute of Science offers free admittance to the museum from 5:00pm until 10:00pm  on the first Friday of every month. This is a great reason to stray from the norm and show young kids that learning can be fun. They have exhibits for every age group and every interest. Rooms of gems to dazzle the young and old alike, a planetarium to explore the night sky like you could only imagine. Fossils and early native American artifacts give everyone plenty of things to see and touch. The new bat exhibit has thrilled my children as you get up close and personal to different types of bats big and small, and even see the famous Vampire Bats in all their glory. There is plenty to see and do at the museum and surely your family will want to go back, as the attractions change through out the year, but a free preview cannot be beat. A word of advice, walk quickly past the gift shop, because once your kids see what's inside, your free night won't be so free anymore!
